How are lash extensions applied?Using two sets of tweezers, individual synthetic lashes are dipped into a small amount of adhesive and then applied to one natural lash. The application process is done while lying down with your eyes closed.

How do I prepare for my lash appointment?Great question! And this is very important. Here are a few tips on how to prepare: - Complete the Client Intake & Consent Form Online before your appointment. - Remove ALL eye makeup. Brow and facial makeup are okay. - If you wear contact lenses, remove them before your appointment. - Avoid caffeine and stimulants before your appointment. - Use the washroom before you leave for your appointment. - Remember that you will need to avoid getting your lashes wet for 24 hours after your lashes are done, so plan your lash day accordingly. Examples: Showering, gym (sweating), hot yoga, spray tanning, saunas etc. Minimize Allergy Concerns Individuals exposed to a known allergen prior to their appointment, i.e., seasonal allergy or pet allergy being the most common, may be more likely to experience an allergic reaction to the eyelash extension adhesive. It is recommended that you consider taking an oral and/or ophthalmic (eye) antihistamine prior to your appointment. If you do all of the above, we will have maximum time to make your lashes look their best! Having CLEAN lashes is incredibly important. If there is any makeup residue present, extensions will not last. We can cleanse when you arrive, but that takes time away from when we could be lashing. Other important info: - If you have had a lash tint and/or lift done, you will need to wait at least 24 hours until you can have extensions applied. - If you will be getting a spray tan, have your lashes done at least 24 hours before a tan or anytime after your first shower with a tan. - If this is your first time coming and you use waterproof mascara or eyeliner, stop using these 3 days before your appointment as they are very difficult to remove. - If you have recently had a spa facial treamtnet done and your eye area is senstive, it is best to schedule your appointment a few days after treatment. - Always avoid any oil based products on or around the eye area when you have extensions.

What is a Lash Lift? The Elleebana Lash Lift is a semi-permanent treatment that gives your natural lashes an illusion of perfectly curled lashes with added definition. It is a great alternative to eyelash extensions, as it requires very little maintenance and has long lasting results. Lash Lifting uses silicone rods or pads instead of traditional perming rollers to give more of a lifting effect from the base of the eyelash.

What is the difference between the Classic and Russian Volume style?Classic lashes refers to one extension per natural lash. Russian volume is an advanced technique where a "fan" of 2 or more lashes are applied to one natural lash, creating more volume. A hybrid set is a mix of classic and russian volume.

How do I take care of my new lash extensions? Please refer to our Lash Care Guide here. To clean your lashes, use a soft bristle brush and oil free cleanser to gently cleanse your lashes daily. Close your eyes and brush downwards to clean the lashes and lash line. Use your clean mascara spoolie to brush through daily as well.

I hardly have any natural lashes. Am I a good candidate for extensions?Your natural lashes dictate what length, weight and curl of lash extension that can be safely applied to your natural lash. If you don't have any natural lashes, there won't be anything to apply an extension to. There are some conditions where you shouldn't have extensions applied, such as recent eye injury or illness or chemotherapy. This is covered in the client information and waiver form to make sure you're a good candidate for lashes. Your lash tech may suggest using a lash growth serum for 1-2 months prior to applying extensions.

I'm pregnant. Can I still get extensions or a lash lift? Some people say yes, some say no. I say it's up to you as long as you know the risks. Allergies can pop up at any time and if you do have an allergic reaction you won't be able to do much about it if you're pregnant. Also, with pregnancy comes hormone changes....which could affect your hair, including your eyelashes. A lash lift may not give that perfect curl and retention with extensions may not be as good - or both could work just fine. In any case, you're lying on your back for an extended time which isn't ideal. We can take breaks and use pillows to make you comfortable but it all comes down to what you're comfortable doing while pregnant. Many people have continued to get extensions while pregnant and some decide they aren't comfortable with the risks. We say You Do You!

Is there maintenance involved? For lash lifts, there isn't much maintenance involved. Lifts can last upwards of 8 weeks. Steam, moisture and makeup should be avoided for the first 24-48 hours. Elleevate mascara can be applied to nourish your lashes in between a lash lift. Lash extensions do require more care. Lashes naturally grow and then eventually fall out on their own. It is normal to lose about 2-5 lashes every day, therefore fills are needed every 2-4 weeks when you have extensions. Please refer to our lash care guide here: http://www.lashesfordaysquispamsis.com/lash-care

Will extensions damage or cause my natural lashes to fall out?Your natural lashes have their own life cycle of growing and then eventually fall out. It's hard to notice small lashes falling out, but when attached to a thicker, longer lash they become much more noticeable! Once the extensions are removed, your own eyes may appear smaller, your natural lashes, shorter and sparser because you've been accustomed to a full set of longer, thicker lashes. Also, how you care for your lashes is very important for the health of your natural lashes. Please refer to the lash care guide here.

How long does it take to apply lash extensions?Lash extensions are applied while you are lying down with your eyes closed on a comfortable spa bed. This usually takes about 2 hours for a full set of lashes, but also depends on the set of lashes you decide to get. After prepping your lashes, your bottom lashes are protected with a gel eye pad. Lash extensions are then applied 1-to-1 with medical grade adhesive. It is a really relaxing, non-invasive treatment and most of our clients take the time to catch up on their beauty sleep! Lash fills take 30-90 minutes, depending on your lash cycle, how well you care for your lashes and the appointment type you choose. Browse here or here to see all that is offered!

How long will my new lashes last?Your new lashes will last between 2 to 4 weeks depending on your skincare routine and your own natural lash life cycle. To maintain the full look of your lashes, it will require you to maintain refills every 2-3 weeks. The majority of people go 3 weeks between fills. It is recommended to get a fill 2 weeks after your full set has been applied.
-
How often should I be coming in for lash refills? We recommend getting refills every 2 to 4 weeks. If you wait too long your extensions will fall out and you will require a full set. Factors such as exposure to humidity, steam or touching your eyes a lot may cause the extensions to fall quicker. A regular refill can take anywhere from 45 - 90 minutes, depending on the state of your remaining lashes and the appointment type you choose. A good sign of when you need a refill is when your extensions are 50%-60% gone.
-
Can I apply mascara to my lash extensions?Yes, however you must only apply water based mascara. DO NOT USE OIL-BASED OR WATER-PROOF MASCARA. Waterproof mascara and any type of oil based mascara dissolves the bonding agent of the extensions and causes them to fall out sooner. Also, take care in washing off all eye makeup. Only use a water based eye makeup remover. Same goes for eyeliner, only use water based products. You may purchase makeup remover, eyeliner and mascara at Lashes For Days. Everything we sell is 100% compatible with extensions.
-
Can I swim, shower and exercise with extensions on?"Yes! However, we do recommend that you keep your eye area dry for 24 hours after the initial eyelash extension application. This allows the bonding agent to fully dry and prolong the life of your extensions.
